I also mounted a small folding D ring to the deck by where the umbrella goes and I drilled a hole through the umbrella post and fastened a small chain with a bolt. on the end of the chain is a S hook.....I just run the chain through the D ring and hook the chain back to itself with the S hook.....this way I do not have to tie it down, it can't go anywhere and I have no tie downs in the way anywhere.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

G, thanks for that idea, mine fits down in there but as said not that far, does the tie downs come in the bag with the brella ?? I cant find my bag so was wandering if that might be where the tie downs are ?

Yes tie downs come with the Sportsbrella but like I said.....I have a safety chain and do not need the tie downs.

I like the safety chain setup better than the tiedowns (or I think I would) since I already have trouble dealing with the long rods and the brella LOL

Let me try to remember....Is this the boat that looks like a 30x30 shop with a roof......Or you really talking about a sports brella....If a sports brella, did you do any modifications?
