Actually 3 and a halfRofl

I use the 16.5 slow trol rods from BM. if sinker is at 12 foot deep. The fish is in hand without reeling.

That's what I was thinking--I can just see it now-Ill end up getting 12fters (cuz the price) then will end up getting the 14's--next thing you know I got a but load of money in rods.

I dont think it would make that much difference. In deeper water the hooks would be below the trolling motor and spawning fish in shallows will hit almost ANYTHING. If you gotta buy rods get the lengths you want and you wont be re-buying them later thinking it will make a difference. Just my 2 cents worth...
