I heard of it called Yockney Ridge, cause they couldn't pronoun Yocona.
Years ago I told my mother-in-law that we were going to Yocona Ridge to camp for the weekend. Oh, where's that? At Enid where we always camp. Oh, you mean Yockney Ridge.
Where did Yockney come from? Where did Yocona come from?
Turkey Creek? How much bank wall is there 100 yards down from the railroad pillings?
Yocona is the river feeding Enid.

Did you skip class or sleep during that part of MS history in school?
Leflore, french homesteaders, establisted a trading post on the pearl river. The seatlement was called Leflore Bluff, which became the third capitol of MS (Jackson). One of the sons married a Chootaw girl, daughter of Yocona. They had 1 son, Greenwood.
There is more to this, but this is a starter.
I fished Turkey creek a few years ago from the bank, about 100 yards from the old bridge. I did good that day.
Not much on the history stuff when I was younger and wish I had paid better attention. Turkey was on fire a couple a weeks ago but not so much lately, can be hit or miss but when its good its dang good.
