    Default Fish Fry Mix

I just ordered another case of the mix that was used at the spring camp. It's Southern Star Fish Fry Seasoning. You can only get it by the case and by ordering it by phone. You'll pay $70 plus shipping COD. There's 24 1.25 lb bags per case and you mix a bag with self rising corn meal mix at a ratio of 50/50.

ScottV I have never heard of self rising corn meal. I just normally use straight corn meal, flour, eggs & milk myself. I have never found a mix that I have liked to fry crappie in.

Do it the way you like it. Everyone at the fish fry thought this stuff was great and many wanted to know how to get it thus the reason for Scott posting it.

Well Major after looking at the package it looks like something that I would also like to try. I am always open to something new! I see that in the contents it has dried onions in it. And if the wife likes it that makes it even better. Have to keep Moma happy! Hey ScotV would you PM the phone number and name of the place please to me?

Its kind of like grandma would turn over in her grave if she found out I quit using a old black iron skillet to fry fish in! But I love my Cajun Fish Fryer!

Thats the yankee way.....just mix this 50 50 with cormeal....no flour eggs or milk needed.... If you don't have a fish breader just dredge the drained fillets though this and shake off the excess and drop into a deep fryer full of peanut oil at 350-370 degrees.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
