problems pulling cranks

"G".....Do you have anything "extra" on your Hi-techs when pulling cranks. I bought some, but have yet to pull cranks with them yet. Just wondering cause I have seen other threads that say they don't work to well, not sure why......

I don't believe in the fish being spoooked by the boat because I catch fish directly under the boat tightlining minnows in the same locations that I pull cranks and I have some big deep divers with a very step dive profile that I will pull 40 feet behind the boat and consistently hook up with fish. I like to keep my longest lines on the outside so that if a fish strikes the middle or outside rod I can just move the rod straight up and it will walk right into the clear path of water behind the boat to avoid tangles. I run a 7', 9' and 12' rod on each side on a normal day-sometimes just the 7's and 12's if I'm solo and there is a lot of traffic on the water.

G told it rite Gator he was running the boat most of the time and I was doing most of the rods. We ran all 6 rods with in 1 to 3 ft. of each other. I pulled one line part of the way in cause we caught a stripper and he crossed one line. We made several turns and no problem. We run the round wide swivells on all polls but not the little long slim ones baits won't run true with them. My 2 cents.

They work great
Some folks that have never tried HiTeks are scared the rods will come out.....they will not.....the rods going straight out the back of the boat need to be elevated about 25-30 degrees......the ones going out the sides do not need this. Yes did put some L brackets on mine but they are really not needed.....if your rod jumps out of the saddle at the front of the rod holder it will sill lock in and is not going anywhere. If you look in this pic you can see the L brackets....
