check out "rivnut" I think is what its called, same concept except NO rubber. You must have a MG TM as those "isolator bolts" were used on my MG. They worked fine for 7 yrs for me, but when I upgraded last year, and was removing the old MG, those isolator bolts were definately shot.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Funny you metioned that...Actually its a MK Edge. But when I look at drawings of the MinnK and the MG , I only find those isolator bolts on the MG drawings.

This may be a Dumb question, but if there is no rubber....how does it work. What takes place of the expanding rubber to keep it from popping back out?

The rubber grommets also act as shock asobers, preventing metal to metal banging which leads to bolts and nuts coming loose.

Someone just did a post a couple of weeks ago about the same problem. Talked about a new toggle bolt sold by home depot and lows. Has a real strong T and it is all made in one piece you drill 1/2 in hole insert t and slide down a plastic lock collar that holds everything in place until you install your bolt and tighten it up.Sorry I can't remember what they are called but hopefully some who does will chime in. Saw a add for some stales ones on some fishing show the other day also

You install it like a pop rivet. Instead its a threaded insert. It squeezes the metal like a pop rivet and wont come out unless you drill it out.
