I often wondered how an engine mount troller would do if you used it inconjunction with a bow thruster like they have on cruisers in shallow water while spider rigging. Of course you probably need a deep V to use a thruster but it would be cool if you could get canepole to set you up with an i-pilot type wireless controller.

Had an 80 terrova with 31s on my champion 187 an if I really nursed it, I could get 5 hours tops.

Think Vic Finkley has an engine mount he's not using anymore if you want to try and find a used set up.

Not sure what size boat you have but I had 80 lbs thrust on my 20' Ranger. Wide open it would push my boat 2.3 mph. This means the batteries did not last long at all. If you plan on long trips with any trolling motor, I think you are going to need 2 spare batteries.

its a 20' nitro you think it will last 4 hours? wonder if the 160#would last any longer? might have to go to 36volt just hate to buy 36volt trolling motor for front and charger
