Boeing Hands Over First P8-A to U.S. Navy
Boeing delivered the first production version of its new maritime patrol jet for the U.S. Navy Tuesday. The P-8A Poseidon, based on a Boeing 737-800 airliner, is set to replace the Navy's P-3 Orion turboprop airplanes as the Navy's anti-submarine, anti-surface warfare, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft.

Yep been sorta watching that its about time they been around for about 50 yrs. sorta gettin worn out. Was going to cost $10 million for wing rep. on current planes.Gonna take a while to put the new one in service.Sure wouldnt mind taking a spin in one.

I was in the same squadron that Mr. Jim was in...Patron Nine Golden Eagles.....I got there about three months before he left. Lot of memories....long ago but sometimes it seems like only yesterday.
