    Default transporting your rods

I know several of us have transport racks on our boats for carrying our rods. I have noticed that most if not all of us choose to carry them with the butt end facing the front of the boat and the tip end toward the rear of the boat. I was wondering if anybody has tried to alternate which end is at the front of the boat. In other words, bottam layer of rods has the butt end toward the front, the next layer has the tip end towards the front, and so on. I was playing around with my rack this weekend and tried this while it was just sitting in the shop and it made getting the rods out a whole lot easier when you are trying to carry your whole arsenal of rods. I guess part of what I'm asking is, does it hurt the rods to have the tip pointing in to the wind going down the road or lake.

Dirt and road grime would be the only thing I would think would be any worse.

The only problem is half of the rod handles are in the back of the boat.

I hang my tips out the back because the few time I sit up front to single pole or spider rig it keeps the tip ends out of the way.

I aint got no fancy transport rack but when I lay them on the deck I lay then with the handles up front cause the only time Ive had the wind grab one and nearly lost it going down the road was one time when I layed one on the deck with the tip up front.
    I got 350 heads on a 305 engine.
I get 6 miles to the gallon.
I aint got no good intentions.

They ride better and handle the road wind better with the butts to the front.

Thats a plus too maj.....also puts less strain on your rod tips. I don't want anything straining mine but fish, lol
