Has anyone used the Dipsy Divers yet? I picked up 2 to try this year. It takes the crank out and down.

When Major and I went to the Grizzly Tackle Show I listened to Kent Driscoll's siminar on pulling cranks. He has his inside pole with the longest line out. His reason is, when the boat passes over a school of crappie, the fish will drift off to the sides until the boat is gone. Then they will come back together. With the inside poles having more line out, the fish should be back in the path of the boat by the time the bait comes by.

I pull them all the same length....no problem with tangles.......I do have 4ft. Of separation between the lines though.

I start with the longest lines on the outside 10 to 15 ft line difference. When a target depth is located I "narrow" them up a bit never closer that 5 ft difference. I pull with my trolling motor so fish seperation isnt really an issue for me.
Stick yo jig in there!
I know he knows WAY more than I do but I caught alot of fish last year with my inside pole going straight back off the corner of my boat and it being the short line, sometimes as little as 35 foot out. I do use a trolling motor, actually 2, one on the back and one one the front.

EDIT
Nevermind, I though you were talking about pole lengths.
I got 350 heads on a 305 engine.
I get 6 miles to the gallon.
I aint got no good intentions.
Yea like bigger said, I don't think you have to worry about spooking the fish when using your trolling motor unless you are fishing clear water. We don't have to worry much about clear water on any of the COE lakes. I normally pull 6 poles off the back with 4 ft of line separation and I let out more line with my center pole. The reason is that my inside poles, next to the motor are angled up at 45 deg so they won't get pulled out of the holders. So my line isn't going into the water till about 20 ft back. Your true line measurement is from where the line hits the water to your bait.
