    Some do, but they are optional.

    You've got surge (hydraulic) over drums, surge over disc and electric over disc generally. Most of the new boats have disc with surge on the mid level and electric on the high end, but you can get them however you want them.

    Get the Toyota Tundra 5.7L. Supposed to have brakes that will stop anything. I believe all those advertisements. Don't you? LOL!!!!

    Had elec. brakes on campers never had any probs.

    I know that with electric brakes and a controller in your truck, you can apply the trailer brakes by themselves and adjust their strength. That's on a camper trailer, I've never fooled with brakes on a boat trailer.

    My GMC truck came from the factory with a electric brake controller ..... it was part of the towing package.
    I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

    Get a Kodiak disc brake kit and change out those drum brakes. Champion trailer should have anything you need. I like the disc surge brakes.

    Had surge brakes on a 25 ft Celebrity ski boat trailer. They worked great. Only pain in the butt was having to physically lock them out when backing. Other than that, I like them
