As most of you know I purchased my terova used from the BBC board, therefore I'm assuming minnkota doesn't want to hear from me.
The motor was pristine and functioned fine for a few months, and the motor still does. But.... the Ipilot has issues. It began drifting off course a little at a time, then it would recognise being off course and correct itself. Originally this wasn't a big issue, and I've even heard of others talking about theirs "loosing signal".
The problem has continually gotten worse with time and now the motor will drift around 45 degrees off course before correcting. So if you are headed dead north, you'll soon be headed northeast and then snatched back. If the ipilot is "loosing signal", it is doing it on a regular bases on every lake. Pretty much constantly.
Anybody heard of this? Thoughts of what I should do?

Is your ducer clear of obstructions, 360*? When you are in auto pilot mode is there a circle around the N?

No obstructions. Happens in the middle of any lake. Its a slow druft off course. When others mentioned loosing signal, they made it sound like the motor went ape. Not the case. Not sure about the circle. I think so

What we have here is a clear case of Dd'ism. Why ya wanna buy used stuff? If it had been werth a DD, the guy would have kept it.
I would call mk and just act normal. They'll understand and help ya out. Or ya could call Holic. He's purty tight with em.
When you set your course....if you just push the button, you will be going by gps satelite readings and if its windy your course will wind up being a zig zag instead of straight. What you need to do is push the button and hold it down untill you hear it beep.....there will be a circle around the N then.....this way you are on a direct compass reading and your course will be perfectly straight. I did not know this and I drifted off and on like you say....then ScottV told me how to do it and I can go straight now.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

G, you want the circle to go away, not show around the N.

G got it right except for the circle part. I don't use the gps autopilot, I hold the button down til it beeps and the N has no circle around it. Tracks straight this way.
