Thread: No crappie.. but found some stripes!

That's why they are in Eagle. The folks at Tara wanted them in there so their guest would have something else to do. They've been in there for 15 years or longer.

I remember when they put them in there. Crappie fishing has gone down ever since.

most folks on Eagle I've talked to and it's been quite a few love having them in there. Talked to 3 or 4 different folks that had piers and they said they put the lights out there just for the stripers so they could catch more of em. I'd LOVE to have a place over there with a pier on day. Wayne, when we have the Barnett CDC tourney, I'll make sure I have a few stripers and cook some up for ya. it'll change your mind about eating them

Everybody got an excuse about why they don't catch more fish... Might as well blame it on the stripers... That sounds like a good reason. Even though 99.9% of a striped bass diet is shad... Lets just say they kill all the crappie... You know why MDWFP put stripers in the rez? To control the shad population and there is plenty of shad in the rez. Now, they might get your baits and get you all tangled up which is a real headache for some but they don't regularly eat crappie. There are several research papers that I can direct you to for proof. One in particular done on the rez for a guys masters degree.

If it aint the stripes it is because the old bank fisherman kept to many fish... or because there is not a slot... or because ___________ Just fill in the blank... Give me a break... There are plenty of fish in both places. You just got to be able to catch them and when you don't catch them don't come up with an excuse why you didn't. Ever thought it might be you?

I catch fish for fun.. All species of fish... there are plenty out there now go catch em!
