Rees, put some amorall on the v2 shaft. Much easier to deploy.

Mash the foot release on the Terrova and it falls in the lake. No pushin, no pullin the handle back, no stomping the latch thing, and no banging the head, it just falls in, and turns it on. Easier than pullin the cord on a regular TM.

I'll try that, done soaked it with WD40 and it helped a little bit. Sometimes it's a pain.

reese ,have u adjusted the collar on the shaft at the stow point,it has a allen head u can loosen and adjust that will make it easier, but too much and it might self deploy.i adjusted mine and its a whole lot better than when i bought it

I've had three Terrovas and none of them deploy when you mash the pedal. Still the best thing going.

You're right you do have to give it a very light push.

I have the V2 with IPilot and the built in sonar transducer. The transducer was no good so I installed a Lowrance TM transducer on it. I keep a pack of Armor-all wipes in my boat and wipe the shaft with one every so often. It really helps when deploying. If I were buying a new trolling motor though, it would be the Terrova.
