In between them if your boat drifts off line, the IPilot will turn to go to the next coordinate. What you want to do is hold the button down for 3 seconds until it beeps. Then you will have a symbol of a N without the circle around it. Then your TM is pointed towards a compass reading and will stay pointed in that direction even if your boat is blown a little sideways.
