its not the threads on the knob its the threads on the upright,thinking about drilling another hole and threading myself
Weld you a 1/4-20 nut to the pole over the existing hole with a wire welder. Or get somebody to. The tube ain't thick enuff to get but a couple of threads in it.

That would work for sure but like they said above, you could take a drill and a pin and have it fixed in 30 seconds.
