I've been doing some research on the suggestions and have found that the estate sales held at the owners' home in an area with low population (which I live in such an area) don't do very well. I haven't ruled it out yet.... still researching. Wonder if it would be better to move all the stuff to a bigger city and have the tag sale there???

Like I said. Ifn they advertise in the big cities they will come and it'll save you lots of werk and money in the long run. My grand parents lived our in the woods and folks came from a hunnert miles and other states. They was a serious crowd there.

Whatever way you go, make sure there's a concession boof. Thats another good money maker.

You might get better prices at a tag sale, but you'll have a bunch of odds and in stuff/junk left over. Where as an auction company will keep piling stuff/junk on til it sells.

I need it all gone, but I need the best bang for the buck because these funds will be used to keep my Mom comfortable and in the "home". Thanks for your input!

So is there any sort of Rating system for auctioneers? There are a few in the area that pretty much charge the same commission BUT don't know how GOOD they are at getting the best price since I don't frequent auctions at all.
