Received mine last eve, not real conducive to fishing up here right now but I'm sure I can find something to do with it tonight... maybe GPS my way from the ""man-cave" to my bed tonight (no, I know how to get to bed). Anyhow, I've finally moved into the 20th century with this unit and am excited for spring to get here.:D Appreciate all the chatter on here about the unit previously. Makes me feel like I might have finally made a good buy.
If the old unit still works you should keep it in there. A lot of times it's nice to have the full screen for GPS and use something else for a dedicated depth finder, I do that a lot while crankin'.
I think i bought the same eagle unit you are talking about, haven't got it on the boat yet. Five inch screen
and i think it will work fine, had to buy a $100.00 chip and the guy at bps said they were going to quit making eagles, which is the reason they were on sale.
Looking forward to using mine.
As far as mounting the gps antenna can I mount it next to the dash or do u thank I will have a prob mounting it here?

The old unit needs a transducer that cost almost as much as the eagle unit and is just the cheap x51 that came on the boat. Ant got a big boat so space is to small to just have a unit that don't work taking up what little I got.
Try to mount it so it's not blocked on any side. Might have to raise it up.
Come on MAJ that's not what I wanted to hear
How can I raise it up?
I was thanking about using PVC pipe to ge it the same as the windshield thank that will work?
Yep PVC Pipe and Pipe stanchion will work. I'd mount in the same location as shown above and see if you have any problems. I'm betting you won't though, but you could always come back and raise it up if need be.
