    Default Technical Question for WB

Hey, my new trolling motor has US2, what do I need to hook my sideimaging to it. I want to use it on the front of the boat and off the rear.

It won't work that way. You have to have the si transducer for the si to work. What you have is a sonar/depthfinder transducer.

I thought you could buy a "box" and make it work.

Nope. The "box" will only transfer way points. Now i think you can get a splitter and use the rear transducer on the front unit. But that would put you round 20' off the target which would be useless just like the ducer in the tm is for si.

US2 is sonar only, you need an "A - B" switch.

I have a a/b switch I'll sale you. My new 798 swaps transducers automatically.

They's right. You can not run SI through a US2. You can hook it to it with the US2 H'bird adapter though and get regular 2D non DI/SI signal. If memory serves, and depending on your model, I seem to recall you could hook 2 transducers to the Hbird and use the unit itself to switch between them. I know my 797 was not capable of that, but the 997/998 might be. If not, you'll either need the splitter (think it's AS-Y or something close) or the AB switch.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
