To mix it, I'd just pour oil down the spout first and then the gas. Why wouldn't that work ? Or even pre mix it first and pour it in? That should work to don't you think?

A lot of folks have them unhooked and do just that....pour in oil for X amount of gas then pump that amount of gas in .....its so simple even ES can do it.

Well....as many boat motors that I have seen ruined by oil pump failures....I think folks are takeing a lot for granted using them. Mix the oil in the gas yourself and you know what you got. Just saying.....we did it for years before they came out with the automatic oil pumps.

Can you just unhook the lines on the pump and block them off or do you have to take the pump off and bolt on a block off plate?

There are some electrics that have to be disconnected. Cut off the oil line leaving enough to plug going into the motor. 'Least that is what was done to my old VRO pump. They are probably ALOT different now on newer stuff though.:o

Don't know.....thats kinda what the OP is asking here. Best to ask a dealer....or better yet just get a dealer to do it. They do it a lot, I know lots of folks that have them disconected or disabled.
