Larry, I just changed over all my pulling rigs to 30# Power Pro Braid, Hi Vis Yellow. The idea is, you don't have to slow or stop your boat if you get hung up, just keep going and the hooks straighten out & you don't loose your bait. At least that's the plan, and I'm working the plan big time.

And....if the hooks don't straighten and pull out....you could break your rod.....I'm gonna stay old school and stick with mono. When I get hung up its never a little hung up its big time, Lol.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Great looking baits Scott... Yeah power pro 30 lb is the way to go. I am ordering some hi vis yellow this week to put on mine. I used green last year but I think the yellow will work even better. I hope to pull at least 10 cranks at a time this year. Last year I was pulling 4.

I use the 20 lb Power Pro braid on my pulling poles. It can be a pain in the butt, it don't peel off your reel very well and you have to carry scissors with you to cut it. But with the small diameter you can get your baits deeper and you have a lot of sensitivity. The 20 lb is the diameter of 6 lb mono.

I'm with you Scott, 20 lb Braid but I've got 2 or 2 different kinds on there. I got Ebay deals on different lines so that's the reasoning there. LOL The 20 lb Braid will get you about 2 to 2 1/2 feet deeper on a Bandit 300 with 100 foot of line out

I used 30 lb. Vicious Hi-Vis braid at Sardis last summer and like to have screwed up big time. I'm with G on this one. Hold the pole and break the line. Tie another one on and keep going. It ain't like it's the last one you got.

Not a puller, but if I was I would change out my split rings to some of those that are supposed to be rated around 10# so they let the hook pull off before breaking line. Just a thought.
