    Here I go hijacking another thread..... BUT when I was in Germany in 81, I had a lunch date with a "friend" and we drove about 100 miles from my grandmother's house. We were walking down the street toward the restaurant and we were approached by a couple with their two children and the lady shouted my name at the top of her lungs... It was a gal that lived 1/2 mile down the road growing up! So I can't get away with anything even 9K miles from home.

    I do think I may have seen Torch while I was there!

    Almost same thing happen to me. I was there in 87 and ended up at the same base as a guy I played football against in a neighboring town. But never thought I seen Torch.

    I can speak German good enough to get me into all the trouble I want and more. I'm lots better at understanding it than speaking but after the three months I was fairly decent at it.
