Don't go disconnecting any alarm wire until you know for ding dang sure what's causing the fault. I agree, sounds like a low alarm warning. I'd consult the manual and determing what the beep represents and go from there. A solid alarm on my old 2 stroke 200 merc meant more than one thing, once of which was low oil. And don't rule out water pressure either. Just because it's spitting water, it might be slightly below tollerance. When's the last time you rebuilt the water pump?
And in the future, if you get an alarm on the water from an undetermined source, head in. It'd be a heck of a thing to ruin a motor because you assumed the alarm was false.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
Every once in awhile Wannabe gives some good advice.....in this case he is right on target....you better listen to him.

Oil sensor ~~~ After awhile they get loaded up and sink setting off the alarm. Replaced tank and tubbing at the same time.
You can't finish what you don't start
Foxtrot, if the alarm is a steady beeeeeeep then it is an overheating alarm. If it is an intermittant beep it is an oil alarm. Just because there is water coming out the pee hole does not mean your impeller is working properly. It could be pumping some water but not the vomume you need to keep the motor cool.
