We've always had the rule for heaviest fish to break a tie, but I've always worried about how folks scattered after their weight was recorded.

The hot seat will be harder to administer and we could get into a situation that if someone leaves the scales, we'd have to award the place to a potentially lighter catch, but we gotta do it one way or another.

As much as this pains me I agree with you.:o

Kinda like Creek, I hate to admit it but the "hot seat" concept works. While this is my first year to fish crappie T's with you guys I have fished a few hundred bass T's, anything from a little FJ to a full blown pro tournament. This keeps the potential winners in view the whole time until the weigh in is complete. It also does not matter if it is the first team or a subsequent team has the heaviest bag of fish. Also, if the team holding the lead is worried about their fish dying I will personally buy a set up like Torch is talking about (cube cooler) to keep fish alive during the weigh in process.

I will admit, this is the most complicated FJ tournaments I have seen.

Why not just have each team pick their big fish to stay on the scales after they weight there 7, and record it's weight and use that for any ties, if there is still a tie then go to the coin flip.

    Just an idea.
    It's CRAPPIE season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
