Full Moon
Does anyone know if the Full Moon does have an effect on fish bitting when they are not spawning?

supposedly it just makes the major feeding period in the middle of the day, which means the best bite should be right at daylight, noonish, and right at dark, then again around midnight

I've never had much luck at all on bright nights. If the moon is late rising though, I've done pretty good before the moon rose. I dont know if the moon illuminating the water makes it easier pickens for the deeper crappie to catch the shad on top or what, but I just dont draw many (or any) fish in on bright nights. And that goes for about any species of fish, not just the crappie.:o
