Sorry to hear about your bad luck EZ. I check the oil in my 4 stroke Yamaha before I leave the house everytime I go. 4 strokes are famous for sticking rings if you run them a lot at slow speeds. When the rings stick it will also allow some gas to get into your oil. What I do is what Yamaha reccomends and I mix ring free at the proper amount with my gas ( one ounce per 10 gallons)...this is supposed to keep your rings from sticking. I also run the snot out of mine everytime out when I get through fishing. My motor is 5 years old now and has not made oil yet.
