If you hook up both trolling batterys to one bank wired like WB says...Yes it will charge but heres the problem......If one battery is weaker than the other one...then your are going to be over charging the strong one because the charger will not shut off untill both batterys are charged. That is why you want a separate bank hooked to each battery. The best way to charges and protect and prolong your batterys is to use one of the two options that I suggested. Been there and done that, Lol.

Keep in mind, if you've got a 5 amp charger, charging 2 group 27s or larger, it's gonna take a long, long, long time to recharge them batts if you split 1 bank to 2 batts. You can basically hang up coming in at dark and heading out in the AM with fully charged batts. FYI, Just so you know, I'm just saying, your mileage may vary.

He's right, since you're buying 1 brand new battery and re-using the old one. Just don't tell him I said so.

Untrue about overcharging the one battery though. The jumper is gonna bleed current over to the weaker one. You can tell him I said that part though.

as far as the new and old batt the batts i have now are less than a month old got 5 trips on them...
my charger is a 15 amp is it really gonna take that long it takes about 2 1/2 hrs to fully charge from dead with just so i was figuring about 5 or 5 1/2 to do two...

    thanks again guys.

I thought it was a two bank 10 amp. If so that figures out to be 5 amps per bank.
