I assume it'll be open for fishing by this weekend and was curious on the Big Bream they have in there. I HEARD they have some sho nuff big blugills and with the full moon Thursday, they should be on the bed. If it doesn't rain, I may end up over there Bream fishing. Any hints on where to go to find some beds?

DD, do you know where buck chute is
I did get a report that it's to muddy right now and the bream aren't in there though. I've been on Eagle twice for crappie only. Gonna wait and see what this weather is doing and IF those yahoo's from a couple of state lakes call me back on whether the fertalized them or not. Claude Bennett was fertalized last week so that's a no go. They do this crap every year the week before the first and 2nd full moons and it hacks me off to no end

When I look for bream beds I do two things at the same time. I slowly cruise the shore lines of coves etc. while looking for movement in the water near the bank...fins sticking out of the water etc. And I also pay attention to my nose......a hot bream bed will have a smell similar to watermelon....I usually smell them before I see them.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Smelt them and followed the smell up to the beds. Just been a few years since I've been lucky enough to find them. I hit the 100 acre of so state lakes they claim to have some huge bream in them. Ross barnett in Mize, Simpson county lake, Claude Bennett and a couple more. They hit them hard the week before the full moon with fertalizer every darn year. Figured they can't fertalize Eagle and heard there were some nice bream in there. FLY ROD time
