You fisin or arn't you? Heck if you have $1,200 cash in the town of Grenada you might as well be KING. I guess yall add in meals and all that but heck if you were at home you still gotta eat anyway. And gas...Well we all know who makes the $$$ on gas and it ain't the local town. Granted there's some money injected from the tourney into the local economy but I was trying to figure out if $80K were justifable. I guess 40K was if you guys spend what you claim.

Torch, if you're in a camper and spending $600 does $300 of it include the entry fee? If not you gotta get off the Columbian White Witch.
I still have my expense report from the trip:

Motel: $75 x 5 = $375.00
Food: $40.00 x 5 = 200.00
Gas: $ 200.00 (Truck only, to and from Grenada)
Boat gas, snacks, bait, etc.: $200.00
Boat Oil: $40.00
Gift for Wife: $35.00 (Worth a lot more than that!!!:D)
Launch fees: $25.00

If I'm not mistaken, this would add up to be about $1,075.00 and I'm sure the rest was spent on misc.stuff!!!:D:D

It's pretty easy to spend $1,100-1,200 if you go just for 5 days or so. Like I said this didn't count the weekend prefishing trips. And guess what I won? Notta, nuttin, zilch, zero, busted, but guess what? I'll be back at the next one spending probably more than this because I choose to. If I didn't like the game or the rules or thought it was a scam or not enough was being done for the angler, I WOULD NOT BE INVOLVED!

But like you, I have sit down and done the math with what I seem to know to be the true numbers, and I can see where these tourny's are a huge economic impact for a community. As I am sure the Chamber of Commerce's have done in every town where they are held.
