If we could get 300 teams on RB at $300 a boat I can get some corp sponsors to pick up the balance and we could do a $100,000 tourney with $40,000 going to first place, 2nd $15,000, 3rd $10,000 4th $7,500, 5-9 $3,000, 10-15 $2,000 16-20 $1,000 21-30 place $500...How much does that add up to. Now to get this many boats i think I would have to tie it in to a non-profit like the Fallen Fire Fighters Bass Tourney does. I have contacts at most of the big non profits from Make a wish to Red Cross to Ronald McDonald House. I could get 2 or 3 corp sponsors with $5,000 each to chip in to cover the difference between the entry fees and the total payouts. I would want to have $110,000 with $10,000 of it going to the non-profit and leaving $100,000 for prize money. After all you gettin $90,000 in entry fees. NOW THIS IS A PAY BACK!!! It can be split up many many many ways just tossing it out there.

I think we need to get the state involved and advertise for a 250,000.00 crappie tourney. Showcase these great fisheries we have in the state of Mississippi. If we could get a host city like Ridgeland and Mississippi Tourism to kick in some $ I think it could happen.

I can't imagine that Grenada pays 80,000 for approx 800 people that would come in for a tourney IF THAT MANY. What could the economic impact be from a CM tourney? If each person of the 800 spent $100 in Grenada that would be an $80,000 impact. I just don't see the big impact in terms of ROI. Canton wrote a check to be the host city for CM on Barnett. Problem was about 30 teams from outside the area came to fish it. I guess a 5K 1st place prize didn't get too many folks in town. One restaurant gave away $10 giftcards and only got a COUPLE of them back. So you tell me. Canton isn't writing anymore checks from what I can gather so they dropped RB. The tourism officials who wrote that check were standing in downtown Canton wanting to know where all the "out of town fishermen" were...

Sac you have most fishermen fishing for a week prior to the tourneys. Fill up 300 hotel rooms, plus gas, and food and you have a major impact. I take my camper to these tourneys and still spend 600 to 1000 for a 2 day tourney.

Grenada does not pay that kind of money. I've been told more than once by people in the know how much was paid for the Championship last year and it seems I remember like 30 ro 40, but can't remember the exact number.

$30k was the unofficial number. I know what I spent there last year being in Grenada only 5 days. A whopping $1,200.00. This is not counting the two weekends prior to the tournament I prefished which each weekend was close to $250.00. Oh, and by the way, this did not include what my partner spent!

How can you spend $1,200 in Grenada Mississippi in a week (that's like almost $200 a day? On what dude? You eating steak and lobster? I doubt many of you men are out shopping too. You fisin or arn't you? Heck if you have $1,200 cash in the town of Grenada you might as well be KING. I guess yall add in meals and all that but heck if you were at home you still gotta eat anyway. And gas...Well we all know who makes the $$$ on gas and it ain't the local town. Granted there's some money injected from the tourney into the local economy but I was trying to figure out if $80K were justifable. I guess 40K was if you guys spend what you claim.

Torch, if you're in a camper and spending $600 does $300 of it include the entry fee? If not you gotta get off the Columbian White Witch.

and DD being connected to the Sheriff and Jailer ain't the contacts we are looking for (yet) JUST KIDDIN FELLER. We can talk on the phone. I need to have some numbers on the impact in Grenada and for 100K or bigger I think we could do the same thing if not more and give it all back to the fishermen, NOT THE STAFF.
