What minner is trying to say is:
wannabe is a genius and should always be listened to, notes taken, and instructions followed.

I agree poo.....I can understand having poo in the general BS discussions but in the serious ones too? Everytime there is a serious discussion going it seems to get poo'ed on.

What I should have said was mount the thing where ever you want to regardless what WB tells you. Just listen to me and Sat and G3 and Triton. His info just may be skewed a little cause he's got that little screen of his on the front with Gottabe sittin up there hollerin left daddy, right daddy, your other right daddy, slow down, dang it daddy you just passed it. Then he will reply thats all right Son lets fish here fer a while and if we dont catch anything within 2 minutes, get the noculars out and find DonDon.:p:p![]()
OK, here's my final offer. Does the 788 use the same highspeed transducer as your planned 997/ 898/998? If so, and if this is important to you and if you can live with ti for 2 months - mount the ducer to the transom and the FF up front. If it's compatable, you'll have a high speed ducer for running with the 997 and will be able to mount the expensive SI ducer to where it's out of the water on plane to protect it. 'Course, you'll have to get that splitter cable with the 997 for it to work and you'll have to buy a new TM ducer for the 788 when the 997 is ordered and you'd have to put up with the ducer 16' behind you for 2 months. And to top it all off, you're running a 25HP ain't ya, so the "high speed" ducer prolly doesn't really apply to you after all.
In which case. Nevermind.
I don't know why I question myself when I've already told ya'll to never question me in the first place.

I new we could get a good sensable anwser out of you. It was hard, but I new it could happen. The only thing wrong with that last answer would be if the 788 has an internal gps, this could throw the ole boy off by 20 ft or so because his ducer would be 16ft behind his gps and with the 2'-4' leadway of the gps this would equal 18'-20' off. He would be fishing by a bouy marker he threw out that just barley is within sight of the structure he thought he was fishing. So with all this being said, this answer you provided really is just poo too. Now this aint an argument and I aint disputing you and your wealth of knowledge. Course if it has an external gps puck then refer to WB's last answer. His WOULD NOT be poo, if you mount your puck close to your ducer.
Just mount the thing to the front and be done with it. And that's my FINAL answer.
Pfffft to Minner.

Thats my final answer too. Unless you want to mount it by the console, then thats where I'd mount it. In reality, it's up to you. Unless you like mine or WB's ideas. Course Sat has some good ideas too and even G3. Aint figured DD's ideas out yet. They mite be good, unless you want your ff to read the surface instead of the bottom. Just sayin.:p
WB you have jacked this thread and aint even changed the subject. WOW you're good!! G3 wont even have to insert it or whack it on this one.
I been practicin' Minner. Hehehehehee.
