I voted for those two thugs and would do it again if I had to pick between the same two. I am not happy with gas prices, as a matter of fact I am mad as H3!!, but do you really believe gas would be cheaper with Mr Heinz I mean Kerry.

I'm a little confused what voting would have to do with it, though I'm
all for voting, big business controls what really goes on, our foreign policy
etc. Do some of you really think gas would drop if the Democrats were in
power? I'm not saying it would or wouln't, I'm really asking. I'm just
a pessimist, and think we're screwed on several fronts with either party.
My personal feelings, we should strip the Federal govt. of just about all
power, save keeping up the military. Then, if there are problems, I could
get in the truck and just drive to the state capitol, along with eveyone
else, and get in someone's face if need be. I am afraid that the rural
folks like myself are in for nothing but hard times to come, with all policy
determined by someone in New York City or California.

About Clinton, Oh boy, yeah things were peachy then. I repeat, after
thinking about the alternatives, prices don't seem so bad. I have never been
so disgusted with a politician as with slick willie - If he had seen that Monica
was fitted with cement sneakers - and got CAUGHT at it, I would have had
more respect for him than what he did do. And don't even get me started
about how the BATF and FBI goons ran amuck under his and his boyfriend
Janet Reno's leadership.

All I got to say is GO FOR IT! We've already seen what one of them
can do as pres., the other, except for having a marginally more abrasive
personality, couldn't be much different. And with screamin' Dean running
the show, it'll be a hoot. Not saying that they won't win, mind you,
just that it'd be a good lesson for us if they did. Get things out in the open,
let everybody see how they run the show. Maybe Michael Moore could get
some kind of cabinet post then. Maybe after that, a third party might
stand a chance. Wishfull thinking there on my part.

I guess the CIA, FBI and such have done a bang-up job since "W" been in office with 9/11 and all....not to mention senate changing laws to protect their own..don't get me started on amount of backsliding thats been done to laws to protect the enviorment...cuts to national parks, opening lands to drilling, logging, general mucking up of pristine land.... .....as far as "slick willie" I'd rather have him and his problems than "W" a "silver spoon fed" holier than thou draft dodger, coke head drunk...anybody that uses fears of people to get what they want....can't just run on issues... :rolleyes:

Now if ya don't think the price of gas has something to do with fishing, then you must fish out of a canoe or off the bank. We all know how gas and oil expenses impact our fishing, thus this is a good topic for fishermen with boats that use GAS and OIL from OPEC.

like i said, the off topic forum fits this thread perfect. just keep reading the threads. i don't see much about fishing but i do see alot of political commentary and the usual bush bashing rhetoric that doesn't belong on a fishing board but on the off topic forum. that is why ed set up the off topic forum. :D

howdy all; back to the price of oil, seems that our politicans have seen fit to vote to NOT open the oil site in the Arctic. now, let me say that it would not effect the amount of oil that would be brought to the shores of the Good ol' U.S.of A. to high of a sulpher content. just like the coal here in Ohio. it all goes overseas where the standard isn't as high. the oil the comes to Americia comes from Venesula. yea, they belong to opec. the oil from Iraqc should not even be counted into the equation as thier's was not on the market since gulf war I, until we dropped the embargo, post fall of bagdad. what shellback said about asia equates to is that our oil companies are getting rich on the north slope oil from alaska. what TAE73 said about the "instant" price jumps i agree with. i have seen the tank truck at the station on wed. and the price go up the net day. ok they may have had to pay more than the last load. but, 2 days later we here of a price spike in the cost per barrel, next day a 14 cent increase for the gas that's still in the ground, thought there was a law about re-priceing retail goods. guess i was mistaken. any way it normaly takes about 2 months for the oil to come from Venes. to get refined and to the pumps. so,.........
that's my 2 cents worth (in 1980 penneys, i here that they are worth more LOL.) tarfu
