I am hearing disabled and I don’t hear well at all. My wife thinks I tune her out sometimes.

As we were leaving a supermarket we were walking behind an older gentleman. My wife said that I was going to be in trouble for leaving the Bulldog home by himself. The Gentleman in front of us never flinched. When I replied that the dog was going to be more mad at her. The man jumped like he had been struck by lightning, looked around all wide eyed. He went to a movie kiosk and we continued out the doors. I looked at her and said that is a married man. She asked how did I know. Did he have a ring on? I replied I did not need to see a ring to know he was married. She said how can you tell that? To which I replied he had learned to tune out the sound of a womans voice. He never heard a thing you said. I got the stare and a " You think you're funny " comment. She is right.
We have been together for quite a few years. If she doesn't have a sense of humor by now it is here fault not mine![]()

I have some hearing damage as well lots of loud work and loud hobbies over the years. Got to have decent volume to drowned out the ringing in my ears. My wife thinks I tune her out also. The little Bulldog will turn his head away and close his eyes when she says something that he doesn't want to hear. To aggravate her I will turn my head and close my eyes.![]()
