I let a bunch of folks talk me into getting items ready for Christmas, ahead of their normally scheduled order. I looked at my watch and it was after 2PM. I had to run a check by the insurance office (seems like a weekly deal). On my way back to my shop, I remembered a text my wife had sent about a special deal at Sonic.
I had to wait a couple of minutes to place my small order. As I pulled forward, I hit a line of parked vehicles in the drive-thru line. I never have to wait over a few minutes so I returned some Christmas Greetings text messages and such as I waited. Nothing was moving. In a few minutes, employees of the Sonic started bringing food and drinks out to cars in line. When they brought mine out, I had exact change ready, and asked the employee what was going on. He said the truck at the window had an issue with their order and demanded something be re-done. They also refused to move from the window until their order was done to their satisfaction. Rather than pull forward one truck length or pull into a parking spot 10 feet away, they decided to essentially block the line until they got their demands met.
It made me think of how this is happening so much today in our society and world. If I'm not happy, nobody will be happy. I dread my grandkids having to live in the world we have allowed to happen around us.
