    Default Tinnitus Issues

This crap is awful. You may think I am crazy, but when I blink my eyes or move my head, I hear loud tones. Besides these tones, I hear loud locust sounds continually, and occasionally a deep loud roar and clicks come and go.

Am I going crazy or am I there already? Can't sleep lately.

My tinnitus isn’t as bad as you describe. For years I have slept with small air filter fans blowing across my face at night and my tinnitus doesn’t bother me but when the electricity goes out my tinnitus is very bothersome and seems awfully loud.

From here Tinnitus Treatment and Diagnosis it doesn’t look like much can be done for it if it’s not caused by an underlying medical condition. It looks like my fan acts as a masking device for my tinnitus.

Hope you find relief from yours.

CP - I have suffered with Tinnitus for years caused by working on loud machines while in the service. I had a doctor recommend Lipo-Flavonoid Plus.
I got some and took it for a good long while and decided it did not work, so I stopped taking them.
About 3 or 4 days after I stopped taking them I realized that the noise was coming back. It had gotten better so slowly I did not realize it was working. So I started again. Mine comes and goes and when I start to hear it coming I go back on them.

    Some points:
It takes a while to work - two to three weeks for me if it is real bad.
I take one (1) a day in the morning.
It might work faster if I took it 3 times a day as the bottle says - BUT -
One a day slows down my digestive system a bit (if you get my drift) so I am afraid what 3 a day would do.
Shop around for the best price as they are not real cheap, but like I said they do work if you take them long enough

I use a fan also. Can't sleep without one. Ringing in both ears at times. 40 years in a paper mill is very loud and hard on the ears.

Tom, I have it so bad in my left ear I have sworn my wife should be able to hear it also. 27 years of chemical plants and a lifetime of gunfire have seen to that. I just deal with mine and try to not let it bother me any more than it already does.

oh 20 years or so ago I went totally deaf in my left ear. Many many many test on my ear revealed nothing. Steroid after Steroid for months I started getting some hearing back but only certain tones I can hear. I don't know if you ever noticed, i haven't seen you in years, I tend to keep people on my right, my good ear. Anyway I said all that to say that After I got some hearing back I started hearing those locust, doctor told me to stop taking asprin, which i took. no more ringing for me.

From the looks of your avatar you possibly could be a few years older than me. Your post got my attention. Left year problems, sometimes are attributed to auditory processing issues. Which i have been diagnosed with.
Do you have auditory processing issues? Just curious. i was diagnosed with in my late 30's. I've learned somewhat how to block outside noises to compensate.

You will get use to it. I've had it in both ears since 1999 when I had my first heart attack. You are probably one of the few people on the site that will understand this but mine sounds like a horizontal oscillator squeal. Like you use to hear in the old TVs when the flyback transformer was starting to go or a loose connection on it would do it too. Some days it is a lot worse than others.

I thought everyone heard the cicadas. Too many years banging on steel.
