I can't hear a cricket, but them locust are there all the time. Doesn't bother me at night because I'm awake anyway thinking about things I want to do and how I'll do 'em.
I can build almost anything in my mind, but remembering what I wanted to build in the morning escapes me sometimes. I used to get up and make a sketch of what I was
thinking about, but decided to try to remember instead. Sometimes it works and when it don't, oh well............not to worry. 30 years operating heavy equipment and finally
they get hearing protection you can hear the radio with. Had to maintain constant radio contact. Hearing protection was prohibited prior to that. Hand signals were used to
communicate prior to radios. Smoke signals were the worst when the wind was blowing. I know where your coming from CP.

I've had it for several years also. The volume of the crickets/locust comes and goes for me. Worse in my left ear. Just like all of you have said I sleep with a fan which helps a great deal. Over 30 years in a power plant and lots of loud R&R in my youth. I didn't have sense enough to wear hearing protection in my younger days. I wear it religously now even mowing, weedeating or using the tractor at home. I'm sure it will get worse as I get older. Not a pleasant thought.
