Just curious, how may subscirbe and read the newspaper everyday?

DBD this is for you I will leave out some of my more strident ideas for as you will see you are wrong
1.Money should be backed by actual items of value gold, silver etc.
2.Until budget balanced no foreign aid
3.No troops sent to war without a formal declaration of war
4.No warrantless spying on US citizens.
5.No permit needed for concealed carry. No permit mentioned in 2nd amendment.
That is enough for now as I need to address another issue for the would be objectivist.
A. Part of Rand's philosophy was atheism you failed to address this.
B. Like many conservatives Rand ignored science she did not wish to be bothered with statistics.So, she smoked hastening her own demise. How smart.
C.She tapped into the social programs when she needed help even using an alias to avoid detection. My how the mighty do fall.
Now I must go fishing, but I shall return to further remove the blinders which the 2 of you seem determined to wear.

Those are the first conservative/libertarian things I've ever heard you say. Feel free to discuss how Obama and the Dems are enemies of each one of these.

Item #1 I totally agree. #2 should be broken into two points with one being balance the budget and the other being no foreign aid without all the due quid pro quo that directly benefits our national interest with mutual open and free market trading. #3 & 4 & 5 I totally agree.

What is there to address on her atheistic views? Shouldn’t she arrive at her beliefs based on her own reasoning process or having your religious convictions coerced on her in accepting your views on religion? Those views take nothing away from her compelling views on how man should live in liberty without being coerced by others.

As for your point B it was her choice to smoke and she suffered the consequences which is the way liberty works. Some, usually lib types, seem to think people shouldn’t experience the consequences of their choices and actions.

As for your point C it appears that you are in lock step opinion with the Huffington Post http://www.huffingtonpost.com/michae..._b_792184.html that victims of theft having money taken from them for something they don’t agree on should just roll over and willingly accept that someone else knows better how their own money should be spent and stolen from them for other purposes and not get any of it back is an ludicrously evil attitude of thugs. And just because she disagreed with Social Security or Medicare and that she is now considered a hypocrite by drawing that money. I’ve been coercively paying into Social Security and Medicare for years something I disagreed in and now I’m drawing on both without one twinge of guilt or in any way considering myself a hypocrite though I do have great sympathies for those just starting to pay into these Ponzi schemes that haven’t yet reached their ultimate unavoidable conclusion.

As promised, DBD you admitted that the thoughts I listed were "conservative/libertarian" hence logically they should be supported by your conservative mentors, alas they are not. Now behold, Nixon uncoupled the dollar from hard specie even a conservative should remember he was a repuplicant. Number 2,3,and4 one could see no evidence of support from your side as another great republicant W was guilty of violating these. 5 is actually more of a state's issue. So it does appear that you like most conservatives seem to be blind to the chicanery of those you support, how sad.
Now LBM concerning Rand, her lack of religious belief troubles me not but one should examine all facets of a philosophy. As for her smoking,the point addressed was not her freedom, but her out and out rejection and disdain for the evidence presented by science. Combining B and C, her problem was not so much hypocracy, the problem was hubris. Pride doe go before the fall.

You remind me of a certain guy on another site. He goes on and on about what a big libertarian he is and then does nothing but bash Republicans. He never says a bad word about the Dems.

Remember it was the liberal FDR that repealed Prohibition. As far as attacking your oh so dear republicants let me remind you (being from GA I doubt you comprehend) that in Virginia the great Robert E.Lee fought long and hard to keep the Lincoln (republican) forces out of his beloved commonwealth.
