Yep, eventually. It seems like it gets louder, however everything else got quieter.
Military infantry machine gunner, hunter, home improvement, and manufacturing for over 40 years now. My hearing is still good per the annual test. Although I do have a range in my left ear I can't hear so well. Turns out I can hear my wife just fine on the right side.

Tinnitus will go away eventually - and it's actually pretty peaceful fishing when you can't hear. Just gotta be careful not to leave your main motor running all day while you are up front.

My wife likes to start a conversation when I am watching TV and then get mad because I don't listen. Or my favorite is when she tries to talk to me while walking away or in anouther room.
I like to get her going she says I am cold I say I know your old hunny so am I.
No I didnt do that I must not have heard you. Thats works pretty well if you didn't do something she ask.
I have been tone deaf for 15 years. Can't hear her tone. We've been married 22 so it took a few before I got the tone deaf thing going on.

VA told me that tinnitus will go away under two conditions. That being when I go deaf ( getting close) and/or when I die.

wish I could hear others like I do the tone generator in my ears. I have had it for at least 40 years and it is not getting any better.
