The WOT is still here. It has just been moved to its own separate place in cyberspace ... due to the fact that thread titles with controversial wording were being shown as the last posted thread on the Main Message Forum listing (since it was a sub-forum of the MMF). Ed decided to make the change, in order to not have the WOT thread titles show up as such.

He posted on the Main Message Forum, explaining this change.

The Moderators of WOT have to jump through the same hoops, to get to the WOT, as the general membership that frequents it ... 'nuff said !!

As to the reason for the OT ... it was created to make a place for subject matter that wasn't directly related to Crappie fishing, which was cluttering up the Main Message Forum. The WOT was created to make a place where controversial subject matters could be discussed in private (password protected). The reason behind that decision was because of the indiscretion of several members, who continued posting politically/religiously charged subject matter on the OT. This overwhelmed the moderator, who couldn't be online often enough to keep matters in check. The long lived threads, which went unmoderated/edited for some time, were causing members to leave the site, get a time out or be banned, and created a unfriendly atmosphere that was beginning to spread to other forums. WOT was created to preserve the integrity of the site, while still giving those members who so wished to continue discussing/debating these controversial issues/subjects a place to do so. STILL ... site rules are to be followed, as well as the unwritten "gentlemans agreement" rule -- agree to disagree, with civility.
