I will definitely say this has been intersecting reading. The both of you have successfully debated two of the three hotly contested topics for the U.S. (gun control and abortion). So Cane Pole and no1son what are your views on church and state.

no matter what laws are put on the books they will not stop the killing. if a person is so mind to kill he/she will find a way and a weapon.

I doubt it. There's no love lost between Obama and the Clintons. Also, she's too old and not radical enough for Obama.

Those who know guns best, need to be a part of any solution to the problem of keeping them out the hands of those who should never have access to them. Whatever your role in this thread I do not like your hijacking the original theme into a topic that should by rule move this whole thing into the obscurity of Far Off Topic.

You don't go to hell for not paying tithes but you can go to jail for not paying taxes (unless of course you are Timmie the tax cheat Geitner). I believe in Thomas Jefferson's firewall principles.

I also believe in the 2nd amendment and am a member of NRA. My wife is the pistol packing Mama from Memphis Tn.

25 guns stolen from a collector this week. Other stolen items have been pawned. Police will be investigating this. Was on the news saturday morning. How long will that take? The owner will never see one of those guns again.
It took over 6 months of investigation to get an officer killed and another shoot on a drug position arrest. Why 6 months? I guess the investigator liked the drugs. I've known a few of them in the past.
We found a grave stone today. My son did a search of the name and year. She died at age 49, married 6 times. All husbands died of natural causes. Yep, nature has lots of recipes.
If you own a semi that can be made into a full auto, you can except visits from the atf.
If you own a full auto, you pay extra for a permit. Everytime it moves, you apply for a special permit for movement.
I worked as a range safety officer for about 6 months. We had one person that showed up twice to shoot during that time. He had a .380 auto pistol with a 50 round clip that he had brought back from his war. During that time .380 were over $30 per 50. He said, with the special permit, ammo and range fee it cost him over $100 to pull the trigger once for about 5 seconds.
The bad thing about autos is, one bad round can cost you a gun and more.

If you're beaten to death with a bat. I guess you needed more time in the batting cage before playing ball with the neighborhood kids.
If you end up with an axe in your back. I guess you should have studied up on the proper way to chop wood.
If you don't like the nra, join another club. Or don't join any.

That is called street smarts and you pick that up pretty quickly in the city. Those who live there but are not involved tend to develop a sort of radar and keep their heads down when something is afoot.
I shouldn't have to avoid a public area or keep my head down while there.
