Its not the wood doing it. The wood has a 1/4" hole for the 1/4" bolts. They just slide through, the hex head was the problem.

I put in some time today and have it as far as I can take it alone. I am going to take it to a friends welding shop to get the little welding that is needed. Just one piece is missing and that is the top cap, it should be monday. Cut, sand and rivit. After that its clean and paint(bedliner) and let it cure . Then motor back on and catch fish.
