It's not as fun then for me. I like to create things and attempt to do every thing myself - stand back and say: "yep, I did that". You do have a point though Danny.

No sense to do that Bruce when I got 7 trees that give me all the pecans I want........for free!!! Of course they didn't produce the last 2 years though. Gave me and my dad plenty this year though!

If you come up with something let me know!! I have been looking on line also at buying a cracker, I pay 30 cents a pound. I bet I have picked 3 to 4 thousand lb of pecans this year of my 10 trees and my buddy has 12 acres in orchard that he gives me on halves. I vacuum seal and sell for 8 dollars a # winch is to cheap. I saw some at the farmers market for 10$ a pound in ziplock bags.

Dwayne, I know this isn't exactly what you were asking for but I found this and thought it was cool. It can handle any size pecan without any adjustment.
    Check out the video.

Hey Josh, that is cheap. The farmers market that I do they sell them for $10 a pound and I haven't seen them any cheaper than that.

Thanks pawpaw. I may have to order one of those! I did make one that does work, it uses rubber bands and cracks any size pecan but there are a few modifications I want to add to it or the next one I make. I do like the cajun accent of the guy in the youtube video! You know you can trust them! lol
