Have any of you ever built an electric nut (pecan) cracker? If so, or if you know a good site for detailed instructions, please share! I know I can buy one for around $300 or more but looking to save some money. The concept doesn't look that difficult and I have watched several youtube videos but none of them show me what I am looking for. Thanks in advance!

Nope, not fishing....finishing up installing my new Lowrance GPS/fishfinder.....You need a mechanical engineer.....that's not me....now if you want to build a petrochemical plant, I can handle all the roads, drainage, concrete and steel...I'm the man....you flatter me though....
Figure the motor at 100 + dollars then the cost of machine shop of parts to assemble ---- Pecans are not all the same size so at one part has to be adjustable from small to Large..... $300 might not be a bad price

Or you could give the sack of pecans to my grandsons. In about 24 hours they should all be broken.

Find an old electric wringer washing machine. Most have adjustable spring mounted rollers and can be adjusted just right for the job. I have seen some around for roughly $100. As for the different sizes of the pecans, you may have to run different batches through the machine. What I have noticed is that the pecan sizes are about the same given for a specific tree. I figure the cheapest route would be to modify something other than building one. Thanks for the thought.

Buy one and charge fifty cents a pound to crack pecans. It will pay for it self in no time. The guy I bring mine to has 5 or 6 going nonstop during the season.
Or....go to the store and buy your pecans....
