My great aunt went to her grave believing that it was fake. She had never seen a color TV and those black and white moon landing videos looked just like the black and white cowboy shows she'd watch on TV. She said look, even the desert looks the same.

Remember the radio shows well. Was in high school before we ever obtained a TV. First thing I remember watching was wrestling on Saturday nights. All the hoopin' and hollerin'
from the adults was almost scarey. Living in the country was more interesting when the bounty on coyote ears was 5 bucks and it would buy lots of .22 shells. We free ranged
1000 chickens and I did a lot of runnin' and shootin'. Didn't know much about TV shows back then. I never knew anything about Saturday morning cartoons until I was much
older. Hunted and fished with a WW1 vet and learned more fun stuff than anything I learned from watching TV. Did I miss much ya think? I did jump out of the hay loft a few
times with a towel around my neck until one caught on a nail and I hung myself. Good thing the nail was barely hangin' in the wood. Superman I was not. He never had to have
splinters removed from his rear end.

Taking a break in this heat. Went to the John Deere place bright and early this morning to buy an oil filter. Saw some new tractors being offloaded. These had enclosed cabs with A/C. I asked Jody (the manager there - I've known him for years) if they had flat screen TV's in them to watch reality television. He say's "no Randy, and a Walmart gift card isn't included". A real wise guy he is.

Just finished shoveling off four yards of top soil off the trailer. The live oak tree roots protruding from the ground are tough on blades. Another four yards next weekend should do it. Ann was following up by spreading and putting grass seed out. Living on a hill, sure hopes it doesn't wash away. We'll see. Pooped. Ann is making home made pizza this evening followed with black berries. Tomorrow, some more fresh sausage we have to grind - we ran out.

You reminded me of my Tarzan stunt. I wanted to swing on a vine(rope) but I kept falling off when my grip slipped. So I tied it around my wrist and hung myself by the wrist until my Dad saw me and came to my rescue. Good thing I was in the yard and not the woods. I might still be there.

Pizza near done. Y'all aren't living right if you haven't a home made pizza with Redge's sour dough crust. Saw West Side Story is on this evening, Ann is adjusting the antenna as we speak. Saw that was on and I started snapping my fingers just like the Jets did in the opening dialog, no words. Tear that up big time. Ernie was excited as well with me snapping my fingers dancing around.

Got up before dawn as usual, things to do on my day's off. Was busy yesterday, another day today. Did some tidy work on the driveway:

The Vermilion river off to the right after getting off the blacktop. Never mind the ivy growing next to my signs, I likes such things. Didn't kill it off.

Then it starting raining. If that's the case, in the house I go to make fresh sausage. Ground up fresh pork:

The folks can say what they want about prices on hooks, bobbers, and jigs at Bass Pro Shop or Cabela's. Cabela's makes the finest processing equipment around - I know. Breakfast sausage this is, maple syrup involved. Stack them up, then into the freezer:

Will work on a different blend the next time it rains, link sausages probably. I know folks find it much easier to go to Walmart to buy sausage. I find fun in this, the way I roll. And, I know for a fact the chicks tear it up
