Good luck on the move Danny.

A little story about the passport pun, I lived in Michigans Upper Peninsula for 22 years and then moved back to the lower just a few miles from where I grew up as a kid. I am a building contractor and would still get requests to come up to the UP to build buildings for friends, which was like a working vacation. Take the guns to hunt or the poles to fish when we weren't working on the project we went there to build.

I had a employee that wasn't the smartest quickest wit kind of fella, but he was a hard working, dedicated good hearted young man. Sometimes for amusement I would mess with his mind.....I know, not very nice of me......so, we are going to be going up to the UP to build a horse barn and I gave him about 3 weeks notice he needed to go get a "Yooper"card to work in the UP. In the first place there is no such thing as a Yooper card but I figured this could be fun.....

He at first didn't believe me, I imagine I wouldn't either since being teased was common. But every day I was persistant and would ask him if he got his Yooper card yet. He said, you know what Senior, I worked in the UP a few years ago and I didn't need no dam yooper card......to which I replied, now Steve (yes his name was also Steve) you were working as a union electrician then right? He said he was and what did that have to do with anything? I said Steve the Union took care of your Yooper card since you were working for them. He thought there might be some truth in it since all he had to do was show up for work, so he bought into it.....like a new fish hooked I had him.

So he said okay Senior, where do I get this Yooper card? I said go to the Post office with your drivers license.....you do have one of those don't you? Steve said yes.....how much do they cost? I replied, Oh there isn't any charge for the card, they just need to know how many trolls (slang for us living below the bridge) are in the Yoop working.

Well, a couple days later he came to work madder than a wet hen.......it seems he did in fact go to the Post office and ask for a Yooper card, which doesn't exist, the clerk tried to explain there was no such thing to which he finally realized he had been "got" again by the old man

One of my students was given special permission to miss class next Wednesday due to a fishing tournament. He gave me a note from the dean of the college of engineering. The FLW southern college tournament on Sam Rayburn in Texas next weekend. The Ragin Cajuns Bass Fishing Team:

That's Seth on the lower left. Way cool, never knew such a thing existed. Thought I'd share.
