With all this rain, and don't feel like being in the house, got to do something.

Good job on the brisket, nice smoke ring, really jucy, and I love that bark. Makes me wish I had tasternet or smellavision LOL. I'v been thinking of building a smoker in the yard need some more ideas would you share a picture of yours. Thanks Chip

Ann and Randy thanks for having us for a visit. As y'all know Randy has been posting pictures of his house projects over the past year or so, well I got to see them in person. They look every bit or better than the pictures show. Randy has a unique house in a unique setting which I could live in without any thought. It is delightfully peaceful out in the woods, something to be cherished.

If y'all think that picture of the brisket looks good, you should have seen it in person, and smelled it in person. It's just too bad we had to leave before it was done to perfection. Randy has a great setup and is living the life.

Ann, Linda tends to agree with you about Ernie.

The one thing about their homestead is driving in can be a little intimidating. The drive is almost a half mile long on a winding road along the river and through the woods. All along the way are signs to discourage you from driving any further. Just before we got to where we could see the house I thought I heard banjos playing. It's that kind of place.

We plan to share our good fortune. Today I mixed up a test batch of herbs and seasonings (salt and MSG free) that includes the pepper. We will bottle it up, label it with a snappy name and all proceeds will go to New Orleans Lab Rescue.
