Mine did like that and I checked everything......it was where the battery ground cable was grounded to the engine block. I took it loose scraped some more paint off around the bolt hole.....cleaned the bolt up good and cable end good and put back together.....been just fine ever since.
Evidently sometimes it would not get a ground and sometimes it would arc a little and get one. But that fixed it.

This isn't battery related, the key position will not physically move into the start position on occasion.

OK.....gonna be your switch then or possibly gear shift linkage adjustment has gotten off a little and sometimes your not completely in neutral and its not letting you turn key to start position.

Randy, have you tried your spare key just to make sure it not the key. I had that trouble with my truck.

Sure did Gene, I figured it was a mechanical issue within the assembly. The neutral position on the controller is on the same circuit as the kill switch I figured (just assuming because they are both in the same assembly). I don't have a wiring diagram, so not sure. But a valid assumption I assumed.

When building my place, I wanted all locks to fit the same key. So, I took the locksets to Lowes to be re-keyed. I watched the fellas re-key each one. Little springs, tumblers, etc. Mechanical, moving parts. Called Tracker as well as the local dealer in Henderson and told them my thoughts. They agreed, it's the switch itself. Drove over there during lunch today to get the new switch and will wire it in this weekend. Seven wires coming off of it and an epoxied sealed body.

I did mention that those switches weren't given away at the price they wanted for them, and also why the price wasn't rolled up to the nearest 99 cents like Walmart. She rolled her eyes and said that Tracker Marine sets the prices.

The Baton Rouge symphony orchestra is doing their annual tribute again to Led Zeppelin on January 15th at the River Center in Baton Rouge. Includes full vocals. The promo's on the radio are excellent as always, been talking about that for years to Ann every time I hear about it. Bridging the gulf between rock n’ roll and classical music. Sheer blast and power. This next one, may have to attend - just because. Ann says we'd have to spend the night there, and what about the dogs? I'm thinking my daughter can spend the night here for my puppies - she's done it before. Thinking real hard on this fellas.

I did. Just ordered our tickets, you only live once. They're selling fast. Ann says she will tend to the logistics.

Also think about the placement of the water treatment system (sewer system). Here, it has to be at least 100' from the water well. Also, it has to discharge the fresh water somewhere - whether it be a creek, river, or a low area to dissipate. I know of some that utilize a sprinkler to distribute the water.

For your electrical power, install at least one blank conduit in the panel box that leads outside somewhere. May come in handy for out buildings. I currently have a main panel with five subpanels because I don't like the idea of long power runs. Also choose a panel that has inter-changeable breakers with other companies such as GE (Square D does not). Make sure the ground is isolated from the neutral in the panel (remove the interconnecting bar between the two buses). This is important for sensitive electronics, etc.

For plumbing, install a water hammer in the horizontal section before a fixture. Simply a tee installed with a 6 - 8" vertical piece attached with a cap. Allows for an air cushion, or shock absorber for surges and maintains constant pressure. For me, I designed my house for all plumbing to be on the outside walls, did not want any vents going through the roof.

You may also want to consider a "package" unit instead of a split unit for your AC/furnace. The thermodynamics I calculated is superior, and has worked for us well here for the past 25+ years.

    Just my thoughts Joe.
