Ann received some Maple tree seeds from her mother in Kentucky, sprouting up now. Cute as can be with the little maple leaves:





Finished the second room wiring in the addition. I know it's anal about the extremes I go through. 12 AWG instead of the code required 14 AWG, can't help myself. Better safe than sorry. The nail/screws plates on the studs just so I know they're there, not code. All inspectors who come out just roll they're eyes. Excessive circuits I know, we feel safe. Pooped now, calling it good. I need to sit down.

Thats the way I wire too Randy.....even more so.....wired my house and my daughters house with 10 guage.......lots of circuits too

Randy....take plenty of pictures of the wall wiring.....I have had to go back plenty times to look at mine years later.....plumbing also.....I can tell you that those wall plates really do pay off....have hit a few....

Supper time.....Didi not hungry tonite.....boneless bacon wrapped chicken thigh stuffed with cream cheese, jalapeno peppers and spices....comes that way from our local LeBlancs just down the street.....got in a hurry to eat and forgot the "after" picture....yes, it was delicious....and she had to taste it....twice....

Them ash borers are bad news. We saw the purple boxes around here a few years ago & now we see dead ash trees.

You wouldn't believe all the dead ash up here. When you look out across a field at a tree line or wood line, 40 % of the trees are dead. It's really pretty shocking.

Spooked now about the ash trees. Thanks for replying about the purple box I posted. I'm going to go back on the driveway and investigate that tree more to be able to identify it correctly. Out here I have lots of pecan trees, oak trees, magnolias, locust, sycamore, etc. - all native, and very large. Also some citrus trees I planted years ago. In the low lying area way in the back (I live on a ridge), have water oaks and cypress. Not sure if the ash are around my house.

Good point Bruce, I've been doing that with the wiring. All plumbing comes up off the floor, nothing in the walls. Didn't like the idea of that, sweated copper as well on all pressurized pipes. I have a problem with PVC under pressure, just me. Set my water well at 90 psi for a good shower. All DWV pipes come up the outside of the house, don't want anything poking through the roof. You're right about the stud plates, paid off in dividends.

Didi soldered (sweated) all our copper joints when we remodeled......also did not use any pvc.......didn't like running a new vent thru the existing roof so I used an "in the wall " vent....you just have to put them where they can be replaced....only replaced one in 21 years (behind a mirror).....looks like this.....checked the code and they are OK....
