This rain we're having is nice, been over a month or so since I've had any. Slow and steady without much run-off, soaking in nicely. Has knocked the dust off with a nice clean smell outside. Four inches so far in the past two days, I'd like a couple more inches. Feel sorry for some of them Texas folks getting hammered though, so I shouldn't be so selfish.

We've had 2 1/2 inches overnight and from the looks of the radar we're about to get a new batch in a few minutes. We need it for sure but slow and long would be better than hard and fast.

Got 5 inches here with little runoff. Lots of soaking going on right now. Pond did come up about a foot and the fish appreciated it very much. Maybe this winter will be
wetter and we can fill the pond slowly over a period of time. Hay field even got greener after these rains. Fishing weather right now. Feels great outside for whatever
you feel like doing. East of us it rained too hard for too long and it got bad.

Every time it rains we get ferns sprouting on some of the trees out here, pretty cool looking. I likes:

Ann says they're resurrection ferns, dormant until it rains. Then they pop up. These don't exist in West Texas. Thought I'd share.

Hey Randy! Would it be o.k. to bring these cast iron molds for cornbread to the Toledo Bend gathering for the raffle? New, never used. Lodge brand. Too heavy for
my little wife to bake cornbread in.
