So that is where they went! They have been catching shrimp here but they have all been small! lol

Didn't have any classes this afternoon, so came home and got busy after lunch.
Went and bought some small gas cans (one gal and five gallon sizes) for the various equipment I have out here. The others I have needed to be replaced. From what I understand, the new gas cans are federally regulated to have a safety feature so the subdivision folks won't hurt themselves. Have to push down on a lever for the fuel to flow. I promptly cut all that crap out of them. What I want is to remove the cap and pour the fuel - period:

Done deal. Now to the next project. Pulled down an old spinning wheel I retrieved from my little sister's house in Oklahoma City when she died three years ago (didn't post here at the time asking for prayers while she was in ICU). This is the real deal. Cleaned it up for the addition:

I like the way the tenon joints were done:

And, this works nicely as a bearing I must say. 9D nail with a leather strap:

Yes, it all works. I even have the old spindles for it.
On to the next project, thought I'd share. :)
Randy that's your government saving you from yourself. That's why we have so many idiots today. At one time it was the survival of the fittest, now a days the government want everyone to survive.

Ahh, comforting to know for sure that Big Brother is watching us. Before long, we will have a federal regulation requiring everyone riding a bicycle to wear a helmet amongst other things. It's for our own good.

I hate those cans too Randy! I save my fill tubes from my old can and just screw them on the new ones. Also drill a vent hole in the back so you don't have to stand there holding the tank for 10 minutes! When I grew up if we wore a helmet while riding a bike, our friends would have laughed at us and beat us up! Taught yourself real quick not to fall while riding! lol
Excellent idea about drilling a hole in the back of the tanks Dwyane. Will make it much easier filling up chainsaws, blowers, etc. And, faster I must add.
On a second note, my boys at Texas A&M are rated number 7 in the polls. I don't recall them rated so high since following them. It's unfortunate that Bama is also in the SEC west.
Randy drill a hole and use a golf tee to plug the hole. Because of the taper on the tee it fits tightly but can be remove easily.

Good idea about the golf tee in the hole Gene, except I don't have any. Not the way I roll. What I will do is cut off a piece of dowel rod (in which I have plenty in different sizes), then put it to the bench grinder to form what I need. Now that I think about it, I'll shape the piece, then cut it off. Thanks for the idea.
Read in the paper this evening that Bob Dylan is receiving the Noble Prize for literature. Excellent I must say, have followed him for years. He much deserved the Pulitzer Prize in literature he won many years ago. This is the ultimate prize for writing. He's up there now with John Steinbeck, Ernest Hemingway, etc. for American writers. Except, he is a song writer, his lyrics speak volumes.
Randy, we put S/S screws in the holes that we drill in them, just make sure they are big enough to grab and make sure you do NOT screw them all the way in!
I use a self tapping screw with a rubber washer used on metal buildings. Works great with no leaks.
